Well, where do I start? The story I guess.
The movie revolves around Jack Sully, an ex-marine who is paralized down from his middle. After he gets to know that his brother was killed in a battle, he decides to take his place in a mission on a planet called Pandora. After more than five years of traveling to Pandora, he finds himself in a world totally unknown to him. Although he don`t know about it, yet, he will be the one who will decide the fate of it. Soon he will be the bond between two races: the human and the inhabitants of the planet, the "na`vi". Will he succeed the mission that his brother started?
I won`t discuss the story further than this, cause it would spoil the whole experience in my opinion. I won`t write spoilers.
The main thing about this movie is the way it is made. The new technology they used, makes the details "rise" to a whole new level. The expressions on the face of a "na`vi" are hilarious*. And this goes to the lighting and special effects too. The music suits the scenes atmosphere at every level, especially at the epic scenes. No wonder it was worth every penny they invested in it. And some says that was somewhere around 350 million dollars.
Through the movie, I noticed that the creatures are mainly made from the mix of two or more "earthly" ones. For example those horselike species are from a horse and a tapir, i think. I liked that a lot. I like fantasy movies on general and this was one of the best I ever saw. The "construction" of the story is maybe a little bit "cliché", but it`s a classic one that will never go out of the fashion. No need to tell, I like that classic one the way it is.
What else to say? Go see for yourself. You`re not gonna regret it.
* Maybe I will write more about the method they used for that next time I edit this, `cause that one is really interesting.
